Our history

Always looking for inspiration

At Nabesta, we believe in a future where agriculture and nature coexist in balance and where rural communities thrive by conserving the planet's life sources. Our story begins in the wonderful cloud forests of the middle Copalita River Basin in Oaxaca, a place of rich biodiversity and ancestral traditions, where we work with indigenous cooperatives to cultivate a profound change in the way we produce food.

Our focus is on creating sustainable livelihoods and inclusion through regenerative agriculture and agroforestry systems, practices that restore soil health, increase biodiversity, capture carbon and care for water sources. We specialize in the agroecological production of specialty coffee, premium honey, vanilla and cardamom. We also have a line of natural beauty products made with inputs from agroforestry crops.

Nabesta is more than a company, it is a movement that promotes solidarity economy and fair trade. We believe in the power of collaboration and we work to empower women and youth, who are the pillars of change in their communities. By eliminating logging and burning in more than 260 hectares of forest, we demonstrate that it is possible to cultivate the future without destroying the present.

Our commitment is to you, to the peasants who claim the land and to the generations to come. By choosing Nabesta you contribute to the recovery of Mexico's key landscapes while fighting poverty in indigenous communities.

The story

With more than 10 years of experience at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), I decided to found the Nabesta initiative to continue the conservation work carried out for more than 15 years in the Copalita River Basin, located in Oaxaca.

Together with the Zapotec Women's Cooperative Goocafé, of which I am an active member, we transform lifestyles and consumption habits, promoting a process of recovery of both human health and nature. At the same time, we generate job opportunities so that young people in the Copalita River basin are not forced to migrate from their homes.

Our offer includes a line of Premium Honeys and High Altitude Coffee, grown under the shade of native trees that we ourselves help to reforest. In addition, we have an extraordinary line of beauty and personal care products, made from inputs from our agroforestry crops. With this initiative, we promote circular economies that are in harmony with nature.
